Schacht has largely followed Al Crocker's original 61 cubic inch (999cc) design, but with the key improvement of using modern materials to create the overhead-valve 45degree V-twin. The sandcast crackcases have been remanufactured in robust A356 heat- treated aluminium, using brand new patterns. The crankshaft is not a convetional roller-bearing item, but runs on riginal-type channelled races of the era, with the crankpin made of 43-40..........
